Magnesium deficiency may cause some people to tire quickly during physical activities, according to new research. This study found that women with low magnesium levels ended up needing more oxygen during exercise.  This, in turn, may cause muscles to need more energy and as a result tire more quickly.

The study suggests that adequate magnesium intake (400 milligrams per day for women, 333 milligrams per day for men, may help. But, ALWAYS ask your doctor or health practioner to make sure this is right for you.

Some foods rich in magnesium are: legumes, nuts, grains, dark-green leafy vegetables, cocoa, dried fruits, and shellfish
